What's this white canister?

Looks like the PO (Previous Owner) installed a window wash pump - non stock - and then plugged in the fuel vapor recovery line from the fuel tank into it instead of into the manifold. 

No wonder I've been getting a strong smell of gas in the car.  Once plugged in correctly to the manifold the smell of gas went away and the car idles much smoother.

So what if it is 50 degrees outside.  I needed to take the top down and do a test drive!
